Are we running out of leading men. I think we are.

Exhibit A: Johnny Depp is the Sexiest Man Alive according to People Magazine.

The 46-year-old Depp topped a list of 15 Hollywood cuties.

And though he wouldn’t be on my top 15 list and, perhaps, not my top 30 list, he’s fun to watch on screen. But even in the smash hit blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean,” I mostly only thought he was talented, but kinda dirty looking.

The actor who often sports a scraggly goatee beard, tousled hair and ill-fit ensembles beat out the slightly dorky looking 33-year-old actor Ryan Reynolds, costar in “The Proposal,” and Jake Gyllenhaal of “Brokeback Mountain” and dating Reese Witherspoon fame.

Depp had a leg up on the others because he also won the magazine’s “Sexiest” honor in 2003. this year’s win allows him to join George Clooney and Brad Pitt as the only three male stars to win the title twice.

I know, I know, it’s a purely subjective title and I’m sure Johnny isn’t going to let it go to his head, but… Johnny Depp. really?
