Michael Jackson Scoops Four Posthumous amas

The most unsurprising development at last night’s (Nov. 22) American Music Awards was the posthumous honoring of Michael Jackson. the singer won four awards at the ceremony, which was staged at the celeb-packed Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, and passed by with little incident (aside from Jennifer Lopez slipping over during a dance routine).

Jackson won individual awards in the Best Pop/Rock Male artist and Best Soul/R&B Male categories, and he also scooped prizes for his Number Ones album, which won in the Pop/Rock and Soul/R&B categories. the singer is now the most honored artist in the history of the ceremony, having won 23 AMAs.

Jermaine Jackson picked up the awards on his brother’s behalf, and said: “He saw good in everyone and he wanted everyone to do good. He always started with love.” Michael’s famous jewel-encrusted glove worn during his moonwalk performance from 1983 was sold at auction for $350,000 over the weekend.
