SU conducts bachelors pre-entry test
HYDERABAD: the University of Sindh has conducted pre-entry test for admission to the Bachelors Degree program in all its teaching institutes and departments in various disciplines under the Faculties of Arts, Commerce and Business Administration, Education, Natural Sciences, Pharmacy, Social Sciences and Islamic Studies on Sunday. the pre entry test was conducted by the universitys Sindh University Testing Centre (SUTC) at the Allama II Kazi Campus, Jamshoro.
Another Peshawar blast injured dies
PESHAWAR: Rabia Shah, who had sustained multiple wounds in the Meena Bazaar car bombing, succumbed to her injuries in the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) late Saturday night. the 12-year-old girl had been struggling for life since she was injured in the devastating blast on October 28 at the LRH. Rabia Shah was a fourth grade student and on the fateful day she was returning home along with her teacher when the bomb ripped through the narrow bazaar. She was an orphan and her wage-earning father had died nine days before the blast due to cardiovascular disease. She had sustained injuries in the chest, back and abdomen while her right leg was amputated.
Agencies behind bomb blasts, claims TTP
MARDAN: the banned outfit, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), on Saturday accused intelligence agencies of carrying out the recent bomb explosions. in a leaflet delivered to the Mardan Press Club, the TTP claimed that intelligence agencies were responsible for the bomb blasts targeting innocent civilians. Such activities are aimed at maligning the Taliban movement, the Urdu-language leaflet said. It claimed that it wasnt against civilians and that its main target were security personnel.
39 outlaws held in Kohat
KOHAT: the police claimed to have arrested 39 proclaimed offenders and seized arms from their possession on the second day of the crackdown launched by the police in the region. A press release on Sunday stated that the police of Kohat, Hangu and Karak continued crackdown on anti-social elements in their respective areas and arrested 39 outlaws and recovered five Kalashnikov rifles, three repeaters, 16 guns, 15 pistols, 1,500 cartridges and 15 kilogram hashish.
Judiciary to be rid of corruption: PHC CJ
MANSEHRA: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan has said he was planning to bring major changes in the judiciary to bring it up to the expectations of the people. I will strictly follow merit in appointments of judges and other staff, he told the Mansehra District Bar. Bar President Shahjehan Khan Swati also spoke on the occasion. Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan said lawyers had an important role to play in reviving the lost glory of the judiciary.
Three suspects held in Shangla
BISHAM: Police claimed to have arrested three suspected persons in a raid on Sunday. A party of the Martung Dedal police station raided a house in the village and arrested three suspects Umar Taj, Muhammad Zar and Akbar Khan. One Kalashnikov rifle, two guns and 500 cartridges were also recovered from their possession.
