Teen pleads guilty in violent Border Patrol murder

SAN DIEGO — A 17-year-old has pleaded guilty in the murder of a Border Patrol agent shot eight times in head, neck and torso in July.

The U.S. attorney’s office in San Diego said Christian Daniel Castro Alvarez entered the plea Friday in federal court. it said the teenager admitted entering the United States illegally from Mexico to rob a Border Patrol agent of government property.

Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas was shot four times in the head the night of July 23 near Campo, east of San Diego. he was also shot once in the neck and three times in the torso.

LUCKNOW – four people were killed and one seriously injured when a train rammed into a tractor-trolley on the outskirts of the state capital early Friday, officials said.

The incident occurred at an unmanned railway crossing near Tikariya village in the Gosainganj area.

“A tractor-trolley was crossing the unmanned railway crossing when the Sultanpur-Lucknow passenger train hit it. while the driver, Sanjay and the cleaner, Mohle died on the spot, two others, Rahul and Sanjeevan, died on way to hospital,” Additional Superintendent of Police S.K. Tiwari told IANS.

Sarjoo was critically injured and is in hospital, he added.

In a similar accident in the state’s Gonda district, 120 km from here, earlier this month, over a dozen people were killed and over 50 injured when a train hit a truck at an unmanned crossing in the Nawabganj area.
