Tiger Woods, 'New Moon' And Homemade 'Toy Story' Models In Today's Twitter-Wood

Tiger Woods was a hot topic on Twitter this weekend, and that meant he became a trending topic in Twitter-Wood. somehow his Cadillac Escalade has become a subject of interest too, particularly with one “Harper’s Island” actor who pointed out that the golfer wasn’t driving a Buick.

“Toy story 3″ director Lee Unkrich, meanwhile, retweeted some great shots of homemade models based on the Disney-Pixar series, they’re mighty impressive. Also impressive has been the performance by “New Moon” in theaters this month, but Jim Carrey took note of the movie’s rabid fans and issues a warning in response. Check out those tweets along with sad news from Emmy Rossum, how to get to Sesame Street and Sarah Silverman’s reaction to “Precious.” It’s all waiting after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for November 30, 2009.

Twilight sequel New Moon is sexy: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

Stars of the Twilight sagas new Moon, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart say that they are proud of their work. Their movie grossed more millions during the Black Friday celebration.

Michael Sheen: Interview with 'New Moon' star on fitting in with the cast

Michael Sheen is best known for his roles as Tony Blair in The Queen and David Frost in Frost/Nixon. so it was a bit of a surprise that this serious actor, with a great ability to transform completely into real-life characters, would want a role in the frothy Twilight series. EW.com chatted with Sheen about his New Moon experience.

What made you want to sign on to this project?
I knew about the whole Twilight thing, primarily through my daughter, who’s 11 and is a big fan of the books. She’s read the books many, many times. And I knew how much people got into them. These weren’t just books you read. she was really into it. that was my introduction to it. I read the scripts and the book myself and saw the first film. And I thought it was a wonderful story and a great character. And then [director] Chris Weitz sent me a really lovely letter. it was a terrific thing to get involved with.

What was your daughter’s reaction to your playing Aro?
It was a whole mixture of things. she was very excited to think I was going to be a part of this, but she also thought her father was taking over something that was hers. But she got over that pretty quickly and was in the end just excited about going to the premiere really.

That’s what it all boiled down to, her chance to meet Robert Pattinson?
Yes, but actually her favorite is Ashley Greene.

Ashley spoke very highly of her time working with you.
She’s lovely. They all were very nice but they kind of treated me like an elderly uncle. They were all on their best behavior when they are around me. I just want to be down with the kids but that doesn’t really work out to well.

You have great command of the scene with the Volturi and you can tell that those other actors had great respect for you.
It helps coming into something where they all know each other and have already done one movie together. They’ve also been involved in the whole phenomenon together so I think they’ve bonded a lot. so when you’re coming in to do a big scene like the one we did in the film, it helps if the character you are playing is higher status than the other ones. at least it gives you a bit more confidence. so that certainly helped.

What do you think audiences are responding to with Twilight?
I think it’s a whole combination of things coming together. especially for adolescent girls and also for older audiences, Stephenie [Meyer] takes the incredibly powerful experiences you have as a teenager and treats them absolutely fearlessly and gives them the respect they deserve. the first book and film are about the first time you fall in love. And New Moon is all about the first time your heart is broken. These are some of the most powerful experiences you can have in your life, regardless of your age. And there is a tendency to kind of trivialize those things as you get older, to kind of be patronizing about those things. And Stephenie treats them absolutely seriously. she also, very cleverly in a way, said that the vampires are stunningly gorgeous as a way to lure their prey. That’s very clever because in casting the film you have very beautiful people who are very good as well.

'New Moon' Actress Ashley Greene Enjoys Maxim Party

New Moon actress Ashley Greene was the guest of a November 24 Maxim magazine party — thrown by the magazine itself in light of the recent release of her movie.

Ashley Greene, latest Maxim cover girl, arrived at New York City’s club Avenue for a party hosted by the magazine. Greene discussed her cover garb – dressed for summer, with a low-cut shirt and high-riding shorts.

“The cover…I absolutely adore it, and I don’t think it could have come out any better for me,” she told E! Online. “I’m very much a Jacksonville beach girl. I love jean shorts, T-shirts, the beach.”

Greene is making a lot of appearances these days – not just on magazine covers but in most media, promoting New Moon and discussing its upcoming sequel Eclipse. She’s 22, and far as plastic surgery is concerned, only one rumor has followed the actress: rhinoplasty.

“From the photographs I can see, it appears that Ms. Greene has had a rhinoplasty and the tip has been over operated and is asymmetrical,” plastic surgeon Sherrell J. Aston told MakeMeHeal.com in September 2009. “She should be able to get an excellent improvement with a secondary rhinoplasty performed by with someone who has a great deal of experience with nasal surgery.”

This may be true, but Greene may not want another operation or need it. her public approval is based heavily on her current look, which seems to serve her fine.

Andy Bockelman: Appropriateness of 'New Moon' wanes

Andy Bockelman

Andy Bockelman’s movie reviews appear in the Craig Daily Press and Saturday Morning Press.

‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’

Rating: ★★

Length: 130 minutes

Starring: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. now playing at the West Theater.

Who could forget their senior year of high school? with the friendships, the prospect of the future, the love triangle with two different creatures of the night …

Or was that last example just in “New Moon?”

Teenager Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is finding that dating a vampire can be quite an ordeal. Aside from being 90 years younger than her lover, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), there’s always the inherent danger of spending time with his family, certain members of which aren’t as warm to her as her sweetie is.

But as long as Edward is around, she feels perfectly safe — which makes it all the more difficult when he breaks up with her, claiming that they won’t work as a couple because of their different lives. Wallowing in anguish for months after Edward’s departure from the town of Forks, Bella’s malaise finally begins to lift as she spends more time with good friend Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), who has serious feelings of his own for her.

While the pain from her break-up prevents her from being close with him, she still can’t help but feel love for him. but Jacob has a secret of his own: His Native American tribe, the Quileute, is comprised of a group of shape-shifting warriors who protect the area from malevolent vampires.

And although he is sworn not to harm Edward or his family, Jacob’s protectiveness of Bella may just get a little hairy.

It’s hard to tell if it’s Bella’s characterization or Stewart’s portrayal that makes her so off-putting, but it’s a bit too much to swallow that this is supposed to be a girl who becomes the ultimate object of desire of both a vampire and a werewolf. It’s not so much the dense lines that she has to utter, it’s the fact that a young actress as talented as Stewart can’t make it work in spite of these faults.

The same goes for Pattinson, though he’s clearly there — in a notably smaller capacity than in “Twilight” — just to look pretty and shiny.

And he has some real competition, with Lautner excelling as lycanthropic lothario Jacob, trimming his tresses and bulking up considerably from his last appearance. How fortunate for the girls in the audience he spends most of his time running around in shorts and high tops while on screen, but at least he comes off as realistic in addition to being hunky.

Much of the supporting cast founders with uninspired roles, although among the standouts: Ashley Greene as Edward’s sprightly, clairvoyant sister Alice; Michael Sheen — reversing his werewolf affiliation from the other big vampire/werewolf civil war series “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” — as Aro, leader of the vampire aristocracy, the Volturi; and as his malicious guard Jane, Dakota Fanning, who looks at least a decade older with crimson contact lenses.

Maybe you have to be Fanning’s age to truly appreciate the “Twilight” movies and the Stephenie Meyer books upon which they’re based, but there are admittedly some improvements to be seen in this sequel.

Besides Lautner’s move into the spotlight and a much more biting sense of humor all around, there is a much clearer use of imagery at hand, such as the dreamscape of the Washington forests representing Bella’s recurring insomnia and the confusion and uncertainty about her life. The whole tone of the movie feels more dream-like, but even the best dream can turn into a nightmare.

And this isn’t the best dream, by far.

Forgetting — not forgiving — the lackadaisical story flow, there’s something very upsetting about Bella and Edward’s drastically desperate “I don’t want to live without you” outlook, a perverse twist on “Romeo & Juliet” that misses the point of everlasting love entirely. it manifests itself even worse with her as she loses her whole sense of self and becomes borderline suicidal.

It wouldn’t be as much of a concern if the “Twilight” franchise hadn’t already become such an entity unto itself. The “Team Edward” and “Team Jacob” T-shirts and buttons alone make it seem like a religion with numerous denominations.

Of course, the topper of “New Moon” is a smug, James Bond-esque, post-credits reminder that the forthcoming “Eclipse” will be released in 2010.

As if the legions of fans and 24-hour media coverage would let us forget.

Now playing at the West Theater.

New malware scam targets Twilight fans

Web users offered ‘New Moon for free’

PC Tools’ Malware Research Center is warning web users of another online scam that hopes to piggyback on hype surrounding the new Twilight New Moon film.

The security software developer says the latest trick tempts movie fans by promising them they can watch the film for free, before installing malware on their computer.

PC Tools said fans are baited with the text websites, chat rooms and blogs that read: ‘Watch New Moon full Movie.’

Meanwhile, comment posts are filled with related keywords to attract search engines. then, when fans search for the film they find links to stolen images from the movie itself, convincing the fan the movie is only one click away.

However, after clicking on the ‘movie player’, users are told to run a ’streamviewer’ which installs malware on their computers.

This is the second malware scam targeting Twilight New Moon in a week. Last week, PC Tools warned that malicious websites that claim to feature interviews with the author of the books, Stephanie Meyer, were ranking high in a number of search engines.

Instead of providing a video clip of Meyer, those visiting the site were directed to a window informing them they were infected with malware and then encouraged to download an antivirus solution to clean their PC.

Twilight Saga: New Moon girl admits she lied about vampire man in cinema

By Anita Singh, Showbusiness Editor
Published: 4:12PM GMT 26 Nov 2009

Westrate, 17, has now confessed to police that the middle-aged man only kissed her on the neck and she was a willing participant.

She now faces the possibility of criminal charges for wasting police time, according to celebrity news site TMZ.

Westrate went on television claiming that she was attacked at a screening of The Twilight Saga: new Moon at the Cinema Carousel in Norton Shores.

Police released a grainy image of the suspect and appealed for information.

Speaking to the local Fox 17 news channel, Westrate claimed the man was sitting behind her during the film and made a number of sexually suggestive comments which she ignored. When the movie ended, the man lunged at her, she said.

She said: “We started to walk away and I got maybe two feet from my chair and he pulled me back by my hair and bit me on the neck. He was just smiling at me in the creepiest way.”

Westrate said she was left with a bite mark on her neck, which had disappeared by the time she appeared on television.

New Moon's Taylor Lautner gets the edge on Robert Pattinson

NEW Moon has seen fans divided with the Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner debate.

new Moon, which hit cinemas last week, sees Taylor Lautner finally staking his claim against his Twilight Saga co-star Robert Pattinson – and we reckon Team Jacob might have just got the edge.

Taylor, who stars as werewolf Jacob Black, has revealed the results of his rigorous new Moon workouts – and it’s enough to shake even the most-loyal of Edward Cullen fans.

in a mouthwatering shoot, the 17-year-old shows off his bulging biceps in – wait for it – a wet t-shirt.

looking out at the ocean, Taylor puts his enormously muscular arms behind his head while he tries out his most contemplative stare.

the cover – which is for Rolling Stone – is set to make the young actor an even bigger heartthrob in Twilight circles and could perhaps even shake Robert Pattinson’s crown as Twilight heartthrob.

so, which team are you on now?

'Eclipse' Director Tweets About 'New Moon' & Celebs Keep Weighing In On Adam …

The popularity of “New Moon” doesn’t seem like it will be slowing down anytime soon, not at the box office nor as a Twitter topic. of course, Twihards will be happy to know that the film’s cast and crew are more than appreciative. while Taylor Lautner doesn’t have his own Twitter (unacceptable!), the official “Twilight” twitter page passed along a message from him to fans, “From Taylor – Thanks for your incredible support of New Moon. Your passion for The Twilight Saga is the sole reason we’re #1 across the world!” it seems no one is more psyched to be taking the helm of the next chapter than “Eclipse” director David Slade who wrote, “The wild success of New Moon this weekend is both humbling & exciting as we continue Post on Eclipse. Thanks to you lot for the support.” Ah, just seven more months to go …

But, the “Twilight” family weren’t the only ones with something to be thankful this weekend (if only we a had a holiday to celebrate our gratitude … hmmm …), just ask non-vampire cutie Joseph Gordon-Levitt (pictured). The “(500) Days of Summer” star took over hosting duties on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend and all that hard work certainly paid off (did you SEE that opening monologue?) JGL took to his Twitter to give love to the home of “SNL,” posting, “Good bye, New York, thanks again…” No, Joe, thank you!
