teamxbox Picks The Best Black Friday Xbox 360 Deals

Black Friday is a double-edged sword every year. Sure there are some great deals out there, but navigating the reams of sale papers from every retailer in the country along with the salivating hordes of shoppers who lined up days before Thanksgiving can be a daunting task. Lucky for you then that your friends at TeamXbox have gone through all of those deals for you, and we’ve picked out what we feel are the best places to spend your time spending your money.

Toys R us, Friday, 12am-1pm, Xbox 360 Arcade System w/Free Carrying Case, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, PopCap Arcade Vol. 1 and Namco Museum Virtual Arcade $229.95

This year, in the face of a nasty recession, the retail community is seeking different ways to get potential consumers into the store to buy things. Thus, the competition begins for not only who can offer the best deals, but who can do them first. thats surely what inspired Toys R us to do a one-hour sale starting at midnightwhile youll just be getting over your tryptophan coma. while the games in this bundle might not be as substantial as the ones being offered at other stores, its the price thats the draw; if you want to be able to pick your own game choices, this is the way to go, because its the cheapest Xbox 360 system of all of them. Sure, its an Arcade system, but you can eBay an HD for very little and have a piece-together Pro with hardly any effort for youor a good friend with which you want to play on Xbox Live.

Best Buy’s $19.99 games

Sure, everyone wants to buy someone the biggest titles of the season, that’s why you don’t see a lot of great deals on Modern Warfare 2 or Assassin’s Creed II right now. but serious gamers have already bought those, and the holiday deals give them a great chance to go back and pick a few up that they might have missed the first time around. best buy has seven really decent titles that you might have missed when they first came out. Others are really good gift deals. but any way you look at it, 20 bucks for Resident Evil 5 or Fallout 3 is a great deal, and Hasbro Family Game Night would be a fun one for the whole family to play on Christmas morning. Provided grampa isn’t hogging the Xbox 360 to boost his profile in MW2.

Full list of games below:

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Fallout 3 (Excludes GOTY Edition)
Hasbro Family Game Night
Resident Evil 5
The Bigs 2
Tom Clancy’s Hawx

Two Rockstar games for $10 at Walmart? Buh?

You wouldn’t think Walmart and Rockstar would go well together, but America’s ubiquitous retailer is offering up two of Rockstar’s best recent games for only $10 apiece. We’re sure you all have GTA IV by now, but you might not have bothered to pick up Midnight Club LA when it came out. Here’s your chance to get an awesome deal on a thrilling street racing game built around an actual story, and reeking with Rockstar-brand cool(tm). buy both and help finance the production of GTA V in your own small helpful way. Like they need the money.

Amazons Black Friday Madness

I find my enthusiasm for the concept of leaving the house to brave the mewling hordes of Black Friday on par with my enthusiasm for repeated blows to my groin (meaning Id rather not, thanks). if youre like me, that makes Amazon your best friend. while Amazon has kept a lot of their best deals close to their chest (meaning crafty deal seekers have yet to confirm them for sure), what has come out is already very attractive for that post-turkey-binge recovery period that the Friday after Thanksgiving should be. Whats more, theyve actually been running deals all week, and will continue to run sales all weekend.

Out of the deals revealed thus far, two really stick out for Xbox owners. The first goes on sale TONIGHT (so put off that food coma as long as you can) at Midnight Pacific time, which means it had better be worth it. Of course, since youll be able to pick up Dragon Age for $34.99 and Resident Evil 5 for $19.99, you shouldnt need a lot of convincing.

Then theres Halo ODST, on sale on Friday from 9AM-12PM EST (meaning west coast residents like myself are going to have to get in front of that monitor at 6AM) for $29.98. if you had doubts about the value proposition of a shorter (but excellent) campaign and the new Firefight mode for $60.00, this should make ODST a much easier purchasing decision. if none of these strike your fancy, then I recommend keeping an eye on Amazons Games department on Twitter at twitter.com/amazongames, as theyll update when new deals are made available. It shouldnt be too much work, especially considering all the poor deal-seeking schmucks fighting the crowds at best buy and Target, which you won’t have to deal with.

These are only some of the deals going on tomorrow of course, and some of the best opportunities haven’t even been announced yet. if you want the most detailed rundown of pretty much every game sale around tomorrow and over the weekend, you won’t find a better resource than Cheapass Gamer (and they’ll guide you toward the best prices all year to boot).
