A Make-A-Wish teen from South Florida, who designed two of three holiday cards for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida, is a huge pro wrestling/sports entertainment fan.
Alex, 14, of Coral Springs still fondly remembers WWE’s generosity. he wished to attend WrestleMania 24 in 2008 in Orlando, and his wish was granted.
WWE is known for receiving many requests from Make-A-Wish and granting many wishes.
There was a welcome reception where Alex met and received autographs from WWE wrestlers. the next day, he interacted with the wrestlers during a private lunch at Universal Studios Orlando.
the morning of WrestleMania, Alex attended the Bacon, Bagels and Biceps Brunch, an exclusive event with more of his favorite wrestlers. During brunch, he was inducted into the Circle of Champions, an elite group of wish children who have met WWE superstars.
Then he went to the Citrus Bowl for the big event. Alex watched the star-studded matches and was even featured on the big screen in front of more than 75,000 fans.
his mother said: “It was such a positive experience. We had a very stressful year of doctor visits upon more doctor visits. in the months leading up to his wish, it gave Alex hope and something to look forward to. he is still smiling and talking about his wish trip.”
Alex has adopted his favorite wrestler John Cena’s motto: “Never back down and never quit.”
